Ottawa city commissioner begins court supervision after DUI

Ottawa City Commissioner James Less is beginning one year of court supervision. If he avoids any other trouble, he will also avoid having a conviction for the DUI he was arrested for back in May.

The 42-year old Less was charged with driving drunk, improper lane use, and illegal transportation of alcohol when a LaSalle County deputy stopped him on Illinois 23 in Grand Ridge. He agreed to court supervision in Judge Michael Jansz’s courtroom Thursday morning.

Less must also pay $1,575 in fines.
