Second trial date set in Auditor’s Office theft case

A second trial date has been set in the LaSalle County Auditor’s Office overtime pay theft case. Fifty-four year old Pamela Wright of Ottawa went before Judge Cynthia Raccuglia Thursday. Wright will be allowed to leave the state for personal business while the case is pending. Her trial is scheduled for late January.

Her coworker, 44-year old Tori Artman of Mendota, was in court last week and got a December trial date. Wright and Artman are charged with theft, conspiracy to commit theft from a governmental entity, and official misconduct. They are the only ones facing charges, although the charging documents say Auditor Jody Wilkinson is a co-conspirator.

Wilkinson, Wright, and Artman are off the job with pay while the County Board Chairman, the LaSalle County Treasurer, and the county’s human resources department run the Auditor’s Office.
