OGLESBY – Marquette alum Maddie Dougherty scored 12 points Tuesday night and was one of four Eagles in double figures as IVCC (1-2) earned its first win of the season.

OGLESBY – IVCC rallied from a 12-point halftime deficit to collect the win on its home floor Tuesday night. Ty Bland led three Eagles (2-0) in double figures with 15 points, followed by former Mendota standout Joe Lashonse with 14 points and Connor Wilson with 10 points.

Shepherd sweeps Sandwich

UNDATED – The Rams’ eighth graders rallied from a 16-point fourth-quarter deficit Monday to defeat Sandwich, 52-46. Dillan Quatrano poured in 22 points for Shepherd (1-1), Levi Sheehan added 10 points and Jonathan Cooper finished with seven points.

Shepherd won the seventh grade game, 42-15. Alex Billings had seven points, Luke Connell added six points and Drake Kaufman chipped in five points for the Rams (1-2).

YOUTH SWIMMING

Ottawa Dolphins finish runner-up at Lucky Duck Invitational

ROCKFORD – In the eight-team meet Sunday at the Rock River Valley YMCA, Dolphins’ swimmers won six races. Lucas Farabaugh took the boys’ 10-and-under 50-yard freestyle and 50 backstroke, Adam Swanson won the boys’ 10-and-under 50 butterfly, Cole Bressendorf was first in the boys’ 6-and-under 25 backstroke, Addisyn Budnick was best in the girls’ 8-and-under 25 backstroke, and Kallyn Jobst won the girls’ 8-and-under 25 freestyle.

Nine Dolphins swam their events in personal-best times. Bressendorf, Budnick, Cici Burke, Gavin Crysler, Ethan Farabaugh, Henry Farabaugh, Lily Miller, Adalynn Muller and James Threadgill recorded only career-best times as Ottawa finished with 49 personal-best swims on the day.
