My two favorite things about doing ‘ROOTS’ are turning listeners on to different songs or aspects about a band they think they know already, AND being turned on myself to an artist I’m not completely familiar with. The Cure is definitely in the latter category. I knew the big radio hits from the Cure, but I had never done a deep dive into their catalog until this past week, and I’m so glad I did. 1985’s the ‘Head on the Door’ is such a good album, and then the big breakthrough ‘Disintegration’ that was at the forefront of the switch in popular music and the burgeoning ‘Alternative’ scene.
As always, thanks to Robb Hasty from Farmer’s Insurance for sponsoring and co-hosting the show!
