CHICAGO (AP) — Tarkus Ferguson scored 23 points shooting 7 of 10 from 3-point range and Illinois-Chicago snapped a two-game skid and beat Youngstown State 78-63. Godwin Boahen scored 21 points with four 3s, Rob Howard shot 5 of 8 from the field and the Flames made 31 of 56 (55 percent) from the field including 14 of 31 (45) from distance.
CHICAGO (AP) — Free agent outfielder Jon Jay and the Chicago White Sox have finalized a $4 million, one-year contract. The 33-year-old Jay played for Kansas City and Arizona last season, batting .268 with three homers and 40 RBIs in 143 games. He also made at least 24 starts at each spot in the outfield.
JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Jason Burnell scored 18 points and Marlon Hunter added 15 as Jacksonville State rallied in the second half to defeat Eastern Illinois 69-62 in an early meeting of Ohio Valley Conference unbeaten teams. Jacksonville State led by a point at halftime but surged ahead 39-29 when Burnell buried back-to-back 3-pointers to open the second half.
FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Tyson Ward had 17 points and 13 rebounds to lead six North Dakota State players in double figures as the Bison beat Western Illinois 85-69. Deng Geu added 14 points for the Bison (8-10, 2-2 Summit League).

(AP) — Micaiah Henry had 14 points, 10 rebounds and a career-high tying four blocks to lead Tennessee Tech to a 78-69 overtime win over SIU-Edwardsville for its fourth home win in a row. Hunter Vick had 18 points, Malik Martin added 16 points and nine rebounds, and Jr. Clay scored 11 for Tennessee Tech (6-10, 2-1 Ohio Valley Conference).
