IVCC barn replacement will be part barn, part agronomy lab

Illinois Valley Community College’s facilities committee is planning for a new barn and agronomy lab where an old barn was just torn down. The 7,500 square foot building would house a tractor, cultivator, and planter.

In case it costs more than $215,000, IVCC Pres. Jerry Corcoran wants to be ready to ask the state for a grant. The college already has about $165,000 in state money for it and will add $60,000 of its own. The state money for it so far comes from deferred maintenance on the old barn that came down.
