ROOTS with ROBB: Fleetwood Mac’s RUMOURS

ROOTS with ROBB: Fleetwood Mac’s RUMOURS

The first Thursday of the month is here and that brings roots of a classic album.  Rumours is one of the best selling albums of all time, and you can argue it’s the best breakup album ever (Go ahead debate amongst yourselves).  It’s the only album I can think of where two couples within the band are breaking up during the making of the album, so lots of emotions, lots of drugs, lots of EVERYTHING.

Roots song of the day.  I can’t imagine having feelings about a person like that and being able to stay in a band with them and sing that song about them (or you) for as long as they did.  This didn’t even make the original album (listen to today’s roots if you haven’t).  Unreal.

For more on Rumours, I highly recommend checking out this great documentary.  If you have Amazon Prime, you can watch it for free!  And the 35th Anniversary edition of Rumours has a ton of bonus content that’s worth the listen if you haven’t yet.

My Top 5 Rumours tracks (actually on the original release)

  • The Chain
  • Never Going Back Again
  • Second Hand News
  • Gold Dust Woman
  • Go Your Own Way

Roots is brought to you by Farmers Insurance, the Robert Hasty Agency, who guest hosts the show!
