Auditor’s trial set for May

A LaSalle County judge on Tuesday set a May trial date for Auditor Jody Wilkinson.

Wilkinson is accused of helping two deputy auditors, Pamela Wright and Tori Artman, steal unearned overtime pay.

First Assistant State’s Attorney George Mueller says he wants the trial to start as soon as possible.

A judge is set to decide whether Wright and Artman should have someone other than LaSalle County State’s Attorney Karen Donnelly prosecute the case against them next week.

Artman and Wright argue that Donnelly has a conflict of interest that disqualifies her from the case.

Wilkinson, Artman, and Wright are still on the county payroll.
