BASKETBALL: Illinois Valley All-Star Game selections announced

UNDATED – Several local seniors have been selected to play in the upcoming Illinois Valley All-Star Game, the event announced Tuesday night.

Players were selected by a panel of coaches and media. The girls’ game will feature Angelique Cowan of Ottawa, Hannah Cowie of Marquette and Maddie Holdiman of Serena. Seneca will send Abriana Jashari and Lexi Greve to the contest.

Other selections include Madelyn Dzierzynski and Megan Wiesbrock of Putnam County, Aubrie Roda of La Salle-Peru, Saint Bede’s Maggie Sons and Naomi Ochuba, Gabby Englehaupt and Janessa Hart of Hall and Alex Barrera from Mendota.

For the boys’ game, Ottawa’s Dakota Deverteuil, Tyler Carson and Wyatt Hill will be joined by Marquette’s Jack Snook and Chase Thumm, Jakob Setchell of Serena and Connor Greve of Seneca.

Other players selected include Kaleb Wright of Putnam County, Jakob Kupperschmid of L-P, Kyle Voytko of Woodland, Jimmy DeAngelo of Hall and Marcus Winfert of DePue.

The seventh annual game will be played April 6 at Illinois Valley Community College.
