State’s Attorney takes hard-line stance on Scott’s Law violations

LaSalle County State’s Attorney Karen Donnelly says she’s enforcing a zero-tolerance policy for Scott’s Law violations.

The law requires people to move to a different lane or slow down for pulled over vehicles, law enforcement, or road crews.

Donnelly says it’s common sense.

Three state troopers have been killed this year while assisting people on the highway.

Donnelley says she hasn’t seen many cases of Scott’s Law violations in LaSalle County. Her goal is to raise to raise awareness.
