Anyone using Marseilles’ sewer system south the Illinois River is going to see a slight hike in their bills.
Commissioner Bobby Kaminski says now the south side rate matches the north side rate.
The extra penny kicks in for every additional 100 gallons of water used on top of the base monthly rate of $34.
People on the north side of the river are already are paying the extra cent.
The city council approved the increase Wednesday.
Mayor Jim Hollenbeck says it’s part of efforts to update the city’s ordinance book.
