Obituary: Anthony Raccuglia, prosecuted Starved Rock murderer, was 85

The main prosecutor in the Starved Rock Murders case has died.

85-year-old Peru attorney Anthony Raccuglia passed away Saturday according to his obituary from the Mueller Funeral Homes.

The man convicted of murdering one of three women at Starved Rock State Park in 1960 is still in prison today.

Raccuglia also had a successful practice as a medical malpractice lawyer.

He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War and played baseball for the Washington Senators farm team.

Raccuglia’s daughter Cynthia is a circuit judge.

Visitation is private. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Thursday at the Queen of the Holy Rosary Shrine in LaSalle.
