New rule in effect for UTV drivers in Marseilles

People licensed to drive their UTV or side-by-side on Marseilles streets will need to add a slow-moving vehicle sign to the back.

Mayor Jim Hollenbeck says the city was alerted to the rule by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.

Police Chief Brian Faber says people who have licenses already have been informed.

Any new applicants will need to have an orange slow moving vehicle sign to be approved to drive in the city.

The city council voted to allow UTV traffic in town earlier this year.
