LaSalle County State’s Attorney Karen Donnelly had hoped to start drug court by now. She told the County Board this week, she’s still waiting for approval from the Illinois Supreme Court.
In the meantime, she’s sending three of her office’s employees to a national drug court seminar. That’s where they learn what works and what other court systems are trying as they figure out how to get drug addicts charged with having drugs into treatment. She’s also contacting local companies about employment opportunities for those who go through drug court.
