IVCC to apply for grant for ag center; state money will cover repaving parking lots and road

Illinois Valley Community College has already lined up $315,000 in state funding for a new agricultural center. It plans to ask for $3 million more from a grant program. The total cost is expected to be around $4.1 million. IVCC board members approved applying for the grant Thursday night.

And there’s more state funding from the capital bill heading to IVCC. The college board members credit St. Sen. Sue Rezin and St. Rep. Lance Yednock for $675,000 in deferred maintenance funding to repave the perimeter road and parking lots.
