Despite the rain, Marseilles City officials are happy with this year’s Freedom Run and Festival

Marseilles City Council members are happy about how the Illinois Motorcycle Freedom Run and Freedom fest turned out this year, despite the rainy weather.

Mayor Jim Hollenbeck says it was good that everyone worked together.

Commissioner Gary Lewey concurs.

Hollenbeck thanked several volunteers who helped with planting flowers along Main Street.

Commissioner Nathan Schaefer was part of that and other voluteer efforts.

Commissioner Jim Buckingham says this year’s event had the best communication between the city and the event organizers.

Rain did shut things down a little earlier than planned.
