Ottawa Recreation Week 5 (July 8-12)

Ottawa Recreation’s fifth Week will feature a Bowling Party at Dettore’s Town Lanes! Join them for an afternoon of bowling on Wednesday, July 10 from 1-3:30 p.m. Perfect for kids age six and older. Cost is $1 at the door and includes shoe rental and one free soft drink. Supervisors will meet at parks and walk or wait until bus transportation arrives.  Check with a park supervisor for exact times. Permission slips will be necessary in order to ride the bus.  That morning, supervisors will be at their morning parks from 9-11:30 a.m. Afternoon parks will be closed. Coming Soon: All City Swim Day at Riordan Pool on Wednesday, July 17 from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. (Adult only swim is from 11 a.m.-12 p.m.) The cost is $1 for everyone all day long. Recreation supervisors will be at the pool from 1-3:30 p.m. Supervisors will meet at parks and walk or wait until bus transportation arrives.  Check with a park supervisor for exact times. Permission slips will be necessary in order to ride the bus.  That morning, supervisors will be at their morning parks from 9-11:30 a.m. Afternoon parks will be closed. Signups continue for the Ottawa Recreation Annual City Tennis Tournament that will take place July 15-19!  All matches will take place at Ottawa High School tennis courts.  Forms are available at the City Rec Office, at the courts, or apply online at ottawarecreation.org or by clicking the link attached to our Facebook page. Deadline for registration is Wednesday, July 10 at 4 p.m.

Monday

AM Parks: Lincoln School, Turnberry, Kiwanis, and Lincoln-Douglas Parks swim at Riordan pool in the afternoon.  See your park supervisor for pickup times and permission slips to ride the bus.  $1.00 entrance fee for children under 16 years old and if they enter with Recreation Supervisors.

Camp Hustle Basketball Camp begins at the YMCA gym. Openings still available.

Session 1               Grades 1 & 2        12:30-1:45pm      Monday – Thursday

Session 2               Grades 3 & 4        2:00-3:15pm        Monday – Thursday

Classic Games Camp begins in the basement of City Hall.  Session is closed.

Ages 9+                 1:30-3:30pm        Monday – Friday

Tumbling only Flips n’ Fun Camp at Illinois Valley Gymnastics Academy. Openings still available.

Session 5               Age 6                     2:30-3:30pm        Monday – Thursday

Golf Experienced Camp: Swing Speed begins at Pine Hills Golf Course. Register through Pine Hills.

Ages 8+                 9:00-10:30am      Monday – Wednesday

Ninja Zone Camp Session 5 begins at Illinois Valley Gymnastics Academy. Camp is closed.

Ninja boys            7-11 yrs                 1:30 -2:30pm       Monday – Thursday

Safety Town 2nd Session begins at McKinley School.  Camp is closed.

Tae Kwon Do Camp located at Duque Institute Facility, 4022 Tyler Drive, Left off of the road to Wal-mart.

Volley Tots Volleyball Camp begins at Marquette Elementary School Gym. Openings still available.            1st-4th Grades        1:00-2:00pm  Monday – Wednesday

OHS Volleyball Camp located at Ottawa High School Kingman and Love Gyms. Participants must register through the City Rec Office. Openings still available.

Bowling continues at Dettore’s Town Lanes. This is the last bowling session for the summer.

Looking Ahead:

The Ottawa Recreation Game Carnival which will take place Wednesday, July 24, from 1:15 to 3:15pm at Rigden Park.  The carnival consists of various sidewalk games that kids can play for 10 cents apiece.  Bring the kids for a fun, inexpensive afternoon!  If it rains on Wednesday, the carnival will be held on Thursday, July 25.  See your park supervisor for additional details.
