Streator High School Supt. Matt Seaton is working on bringing the CEO Program, which stands for Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities, to Streator and Woodland high schools in the fall of 2020.
Students in the CEO class develop their own business plans and then present them at trade show.
Seaton says the community needs to be invested in the program for it to be successful.
The course requires students to visit 30-50 businesses and hear from 30-40 business people as guest speakers.
The program has to be approved by the Midland Institute for Entrepreneurship which is based in Effingham, Illinois.
Seaton wants to raise $25-30,000 to get the program started. He’s looking for local investors.
