Man begins 15-year sentence for armed robbery after complicated case

A 24-year old man is beginning a 15-year prison sentence two years after he was charged with driving a car stolen in Indiana to a home in Dayton and robbing a man at gunpoint. Assistant State’s Attorney Jeremiah Adams says DeAngelo Harris pleaded guilty to an armed robbery charge Thursday. Other charges, including home invasion and possession of a stolen vehicle were dropped.

Last year, Judge Cynthia Raccuglia had found Harris guilty of those charges, but she later threw out the conviction and granted Harris a new trial. In 2017, Raccuglia had found Harris unfit for trial. The case against him resumed after mental health treatment.
