Washington Park plantings to honor Anna Mattes

Volunteers plan to honor the late master gardener Anna Mattes this Thursday, July 18 in Ottawa’s Washington Park. They’ll plant flowers and clean up the park from 7am to noon. City Commissioner Marla Rodriguez says any work that’s not finished this Thursday will be done on Thursday the 25th.

Mattes died in January. She’d been known for her dedication to planting flowers and caring for trees in Ottawa.
