Serena Middle School opens season with three wins

UNDATED – Thursday, the Lady Huskers earned an 11-2 win at Seneca. Maddie Glade fanned nine hitters and allowed two unearned runs in a two-hit complete game victory. She also added two hits and three RBIs, and Paisley Twait added a 4 for 4 day with a double and three RBIs in the win.

The Lady Huskers then swept a home doubleheader Saturday against Holy Cross. Glade recorded 15 strikeouts in a complete game as Serena won the opener, 4-3. Serena scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth to rally for the win, with Glade driving in two runs. Lanee Cole also drove in a run in the victory.

Serena (3-0) finished the doubleheader with a 5-2 win in five innings. Glade piled on 10 more strikeouts from the pitcher’s circle in a four-hit victory. Harlee O’Dell had a hit and an RIB for the Lady Huskers, while Glade and Makayla McNally drove in a run apiece.
