Work on Habitat for Humanity project to start soon

The person who will be acting as construction manager of a new Habitat for Humanity project on Catherine Street on Ottawa’s south side says he’s new to working with volunteers.

Robert Braem is a Youthbuild Rockford instructor. It’s an organization that teaches young people the building trades while rehabbing homes for folks who can’t afford to do it themselves.

Working with volunteers will be a change for him.

Braem is hoping to have the home built by Christmas this year.

Contractors will do some of the more complex work, but volunteers will do most of it.
