Marseilles City Council agrees to buy new street sweeper

The Marseilles City Council approved the purchase of a street sweeper last week.

Mayor Jim Hollenbeck says the city got a lot of use out of the current one.

The new sweeper is a 2007 refurbished Elgin model that comes with warranty and training for city workers on how to fix it.

The City is paying $86,500 for the new sweeper.
That’s about $3,500 off the original price with the trade in the old sweeper.
