Naplate had to deal with a lot of storm water flooding the sewer system in the last few days of September. Pumps were running around the clock for four days to keep the water out. Mayor Gary Mooney says some grant and loan money adding up to $880,000 will help make the sewer system better.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture is providing the village $500,000 in a low interest loan for 40 years for sewer work. It’s also providing $380,000 in grant money.
