High school students pair with LaSalle County officials–except Auditor–on Student Government Day

Thirty-nine students from eight high schools in LaSalle County were at the Etna Rd. courthouse yesterday afternoon for Student Government Day. Most were paired with County Board members and got to sit next to them at the board meeting.

Nathan Beck was there from Streator High School.

Twila Martinson was there from Mendota High School.

Some of the students were paired with county-wide elected officials, including the county board chairman, the recorder of deeds, and the state’s attorney. But none were paired with the auditor on the day the board would discuss a referendum to eliminate her office.
