Rotary club collects more than 800 toys for Salvation Army Christmas distribution

The Ottawa Sunrise Rotary club collected a huge haul of toys and books for the Salvation Army. Eldon Leemhuis with the Rotary reports 839 toys and 321 books given to the volunteers with the toy float in Friday night’s parade. That compares to 257 toys and 83 books last year.

People who still have toys and books to give can do it at the Salvation Army office on W. Madison St., S and S Travel on W. Main in downtown Ottawa, or at the Edward Jones office on W. Norris Dr. The Salvation Army will need those items by mid-December when it will distribute them to low income families.
