Democratic county treasurer candidates talk about local investments, full time work

Kyle Fogle
LaSalle County treasurer candidate Kyle Fogle says the public’s local money should be invested locally. But he says the county currently is sending money to banks far away.

Fogle also thinks the county could get higher returns.

Nikki Baer
For pay of $65,000 per year, LaSalle County treasurer candidate Nikki Baer says it should be a full time job. She describes incumbent Republican Jim Spelich as working just some of the time.

Baer says she’d also make other changes in the administration to cut costs.

Fogle and Baer spoke at a Democratic Party candidates forum at Illinois Valley Community College Thursday.
