Ottawa splits with Streator

STREATOR – At the Elks Club, Ottawa won the boys’ contest by a 2,326-2,234 margin while Streator claimed the girls’ contest, 2,248-2,186.

In the boys’ matchup, Vinnie Parise and Zander Parise each knocked down 500 pins. Anthony Walter added a high game of 185.

In the girls’ meet, McKenzie Lewis led the Lady Pirates with a 481 series and Michaela Boaz added 470 pins.


Amboy 47, Marquette 21

AMBOY – Molly Snook led Marquette (7-9) with six points.

Serena 31, Hinckley-Big Rock 26

HINCKLEY – Elly Kuhn posted eight points and six rebounds for the Lady Huskers (9-14), who snapped a seven-game skid. Susan Tuftie chipped in seven points and nine rebounds in the win.

Plano 45, Seneca 36

PLANO – Lexi Greve led the Lady Irish (15-4) with 12 points and six rebounds, per Reaper Nation. Rita Jashari added nine points and five boards, and Molly Baker contributed eight points and five rebounds in the loss.

Streator loses road I-8 matchup


Ottawa 41, La Salle-Peru 39

UNDATED – Damon Bailey led the Vikings with 11 points and Aaron Threadgill contributed 10 points.

UNDATED – Molly Buscher paced the Lady Vikings (12-0, 3-0) with nine points. Gabi Krueger added eight points in the victory.


Shepherd 8th graders advance in SRC Tournament

UNDATED – The Rams’ eighth grades defeated La Salle Lincoln, 56-12. Dillan Quatrano led Shepherd (15-3) with ninje points and Conner Price chipped in eight points.

The Shepherd seventh graders lost their first round game, however, 27-19 to Princeton Logan. Dajuan Dawson and Drake Kaufman scored five points each for the Rams (7-12).


Marquette splits with La Salle Lincoln

UNDATED – The Marquette eighth graders earned a 25-11, 25-14 victory. Kaylee Killelea served seven aces and 10 points to go along with four kills and five assists. Lindsey Kaufman contributed six aces, eight total points, three kills and six assists. Lauren Machetta finished with four aces and nine points, and Eva McCallum posted four kills for the Lady Knights.

Marquette lost the seventh grade match, 26-24, 10-25, 16-25. Emma Rinearson tallied nine points, five aces and two kills in the loss. Nora Rinearson added five points and three kills, Rylee Giffin posted six digs and two kills, Grace Dose pushed six assists, and Lilly Craig chipped in four digs and two kills.
