Nothing But 90s Playlist: December 9th – 13th

Monday, December 9th sponsored by Marseilles Sheet Metal

  • Angry Again – Megadeth
  • Money Talks – AC/DC (new album next year with late Malcolm Young guitar parts?)
  • Shelf in the Room – Days of the New
  • What it’s Like – Everlast
  • 6th Avenue Heartache – Wallflowers (Jakob Dylan is 50 today)
  • Nothing Compares 2 U – Sinead O’Connor (she turned 53 yesterday)
  • Virtual Insanity – Jamiroquai
  • Coffee & TV – Blur
  • Damn it Feels Good to Be a Gangsta – Geto Boys (yesterday would’ve been Bushwick Bill’s 53rd birthday (he died earlier this year from Pancreatic Cancer)
  • Coco Jamboo – Mr. President
  • Jerry Was a Race Car Driver – Primus
  • F.O.D./All By Myself – Green Day**

** It’s Tre Cool’s 47th Birthday today.  I chose to play the hidden song that closes out Dookie with just Tre on acoustic guitar and vocal and played the song listed on the album before it as well (see the 2nd video from The Aragon in 1994, and get a bonus ‘Dominated Love Slave’ with Billie Joe on drums!).  I played a very edited version F.O.D.  Here’s one that’s not edited, and features Woodstock ’94 in all it’s muddy glory.  Kudos to the band for continuing to play through the chaos.

Tuesday, December 10th  sponsored by All About Personnel

  • It Must Have Been Love – Roxette (RIP Marie Fredriksson)

  • Rip Taylor is God – Rip Taylor**/Bloodhound Gang
  • The Bad Touch – Bloodhound Gang
  • Blow Up the Outside World – Soundgarden (things getting ugly between members of Soundgarden and Chris Cornell’s Widow)

**On this date in 1993, Wayne’s World 2 debuted in theaters.  It was no where near as good or as successful as the original, but still fun.  In this movie, Wayne plans a rock festival named Waynestock thanks to an apparition of Jim Morrison and the 1/2 naked indian.  The Waynestock lineup Wayne teased to Christopher Walken was: Aerosmith, Pearl Jam, Van Halen, Rip Taylor and his girlfriend, Tia Carrere’s band, Crucial Taunt.  We played the full lineup on the show today.
