What was Ken Cusick throwing in a dumpster at his house a few days after his wife Tracy died? His mother talked about that on the witness stand this morning. Sheila Wilson says Ken was fixing a warped floor and getting rid of water-damaged items in the basement. She says he needed something to do. Wilson says she called Tracy’s mom to let her family take anything of Tracy’s that they wanted before tossing her things out. It’s the first day for the defense to put on its case.
Wilson said the toilet that prosecutors have accused Ken Cusick of drowning Tracy Cusick in wasn’t thrown out. That contradicts testimony yesterday from one of Tracy’s friends who said she saw the toilet broken into pieces in the dumpster. Prosecutor Greg Sticka questioned Wilson about how she could be sure Ken never changed out toilets.
Also testifying today, Ken Cusick’s sister Kelly Marmion, who told about Tracy passing out during Thanksgiving dinner just two months before she died. The defense says Tracy’s drug use and tendency to pass out are why she died.
