County Board adopts ethics and anti-fraud policies

The LaSalle County Board has put ethics, fraud, waste, and abuse rules into the county’s ordinances. Employees are not to steal from the county, misuse county resources, or seek gifts from people trying to influence them in county governance. There are also guidelines for reporting problems and training employees on their obligations.

County Board Chairman Jim Olson says putting the policies into the county ordinance book helps preserve eligibility for grants. Some agencies that give grants want to know that their money isn’t likely to be squandered.
