Scholarship created in memory of Sheridan man killed in workplace shooting

The memory of a 21-year old Sheridan man killed in a workplace shooting a year ago is being honored with a scholarship. The Trevor Melvin Wehner Scholarship will be awarded at Illinois Valley Community College starting this fall.

Wehner’s parents donated $1,000 and an anonymous donor gave another $1,000 for it. One male student and a female student who demonstrate significant involvement in school activities and community service will be awarded this fall at IVCC.

Wehner graduated from IVCC in 2017 and was in his senior year at Northern Illinois University.
