IVCC students fairing well at four-year universities

Illinois Valley Community College transfer students at Illinois State University and Northern Illinois University are scoring a higher average grade point average than their peers.

Data shared with the Board of Trustees earlier this month says that IVCC transfers at ISU had an average GPA of 3.23, higher than the 3.07 average for transfers from other community colleges and the 3.03 average of students who started at ISU. At NIU, IVCC transfers have an average GPA of 3.19. Other community college transfer student’s average GPA at NIU is 3.07 with native students having an average GPA of 2.90.
