Ottawa woman charged with drug-induced homicide

An Ottawa woman is being charged with drug-induced homicide in the death of Jacalyn Norris in February. The LaSalle County State’s Attorney’s Office says 38-year-old Heather Reynolds was arrested on Sunday on an unrelated call in the 100 block of W. Stevenson Road by Ottawa Police. On Wednesday, February 5, Ottawa police were called to the Sands Motel where Norris had overdosed. The charge means prosecutors believe Reynolds provided the drug to Norris. An autopsy found that Norris had died from fentanyl in her system. Reynolds is being held at the LaSalle County Jail on 1,000,000 bond. She faces six to thirty years in jail if convicted.
