The Marseilles City Council is lowering the base rate for people who use the city’s sewer system, but not city water. Mayor Jim Hollenbeck says the rate is dropping from $100 to $75.
Hollenbeck thought the $100 figure was too much. The city council voted on it last week. It’s part of updating the city’s ordinance book.
