A Mazon area man died Saturday afternoon while checking his mail. Grundy County Coroner John Callahan says 63-year old John A. Cravens, Jr. was at the mailbox in front of his house on E. Grand Ridge Rd. when he got hit by a car. Cravens died instantly. The vehicle that hit him went into the ditch. The Grundy County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
