Ottawa Elementary teachers get new appeals process

Teachers in the Ottawa Elementary School District can now fight a bad evaluation by an administrator. Supt. Cleve Threadgill says the new policy was created in conjunction with the Ottawa Elementary Association which represents teachers in the district.

A panel of three administrators will hear an appeal and vote affirm the original rating it or toss it. The administrator who gave the evaluation being appealed would not be on the panel. The new process was approved by the board of education on Tuesday.
