Numerous rescue agencies have spent much of Saturday looking for a man who’s believed to have jumped into the Illinois River. Illinois State Police were told of a man jumping off the Interstate 39 Abraham Lincoln Bridge late Saturday morning. Personnel from Conservation Police, Ottawa River Rescue, LaSalle Fire Department ambulance, and other agencies set up a mile downstream on the Illinois 351 bridge to watch for his body. People on watercraft also searched on the river. By late afternoon, most of the searchers left with no one having been found.

Emergency personnel keep watch from the Ill. 351 Illinois River bridge for someone reported to have jumped into the water a mile upstream.
