A small group of demonstrators held signs with slogans like “black lives matter” to protest police brutality in Ottawa’s Washington Park Monday evening. A passerby named Ameer Hammad joined them.
Another demonstrator says she understands why protests have to become violent to get people to listen.
Another said he was for protests, but not for the rioting and looting.
The Ottawa demonstration wasn’t associated with the marches in Streator or LaSalle.
