Marseilles City Hall will now require all businesses to register for a license. Mayor Jim Hollenbeck says some types of businesses, such as home businesses or contractors, already have to do it. The ordinance approved by the city council Wednesday makes it mandatory for the rest.

Hollenbeck says businesses won’t be charged to register this year, but will be charged $25 for registering in the future. He says having contact info on file is important for the police and fire departments in case of an emergency.
