Hegeler Carus Mansion tours resume this week

By Billy Thompson Jun 28, 2020 | 4:20 PM

Volunteers will get back into action leading tours at Hegeler Carus Mansion Wednesday. Executive Director Cindy Waddick says they’ve been off since the middle of March because of the pandemic shutdowns. She says the house has been very quiet.

Depending on the tour, visitors may see the clothes dryer that used steam. Waddick says that may have helped the Hegeler and Carus families get through waves of sicknesses that used to be much more common.

Prices range from $5 for students on brief tours up to $100 for a whole house tour of more than three hours. Tour pricing and information are available online at www.hegelercarus.org.
