No one was hurt when a semi-trailer truck lost control on the exit ramp and hit a light pole at the Red Lobster Restaurant at I-80 and Route 251 in Peru Monday morning.
Peru Fire Chief Jeff King says a guardrail slowed down the truck as it crashed into some trees between the parking lot and exit ramp.
King says there was only one vehicle in the lot at the time. Crews had to cut branches and pieces of guardrail to free the truck.
State police say the driver, 37-year-old Jeremiah J. Spano, of Marionette Park, was ticketed for improper lane use.
