Construction has started on a new transportation center at the OSF Center for Health in Streator.
Vice President of Ambulatory Services Don Damron says the new facility will help the ambulance service be more efficient.
Damron says the project is costing $1.6-million and is being paid for mostly by donations from foundations. The building will connect with the medical office building which will be remodeled into sleeping quarters for ambulance personnel.
