The Illinois High School Association formally announced on Friday the approval of its next stage of Return to Play Guidelines after receiving approval from the Illinois Department of Public Health. High School coaches can now conduct team practices with specific requirements mandated by the IDPH. For the official Return to Play Guidelines go to IHSA.Org

Most Major League Baseball teams are hard at work as summer training camps gear up this week.  White Sox prospect Luis Robert put on a show at batting practice over the weekend.  The Cubs held a simulated game yesterday while Cardinals’ reliever Andrew Miller has been fully cleared to play after dealing with an arm injury.

The White Sox, Nationals and Pirates all announced that they have two players each who have tested positive for Covid-19. The Cardinals also say they now have a third player who has tested positive after disclosing two cases Saturday.

The NHL restart is gaining more traction. The league and union have agreed to protocols to return to play in Toronto and Edmonton, but are still finalizing an extension to the CBA.  Both would need approval from the NHL Board of Governors, the NHLPA executive board and the players.

There was golf during the holiday weekend and Bryson DeChambeau won the Rocket Mortgage Classic by three strokes Sunday for his first victory of the season and sixth overall. DeChambeau shot a 7-under par at Detroit Golf Club, birdieing four of the first seven holes and closing with three straight.

NASCAR action this past weekend and Kevin Harvick keeps on dominating.  Harvick held off the field after a Denny Hamlin wreck to win the Big Machine Hand Sanitizer 400.  It’s back to back wins for Harvick at Indianapolis.  Harvick now has four wins on the season. Matt Kenseth finished second while Aric Almirola took third.
