IVCH reaches 1,000 coronavirus tests done

Illinois Valley Community Hospital says it’s done more than 1,000 nose swab tests for COVID-19. As of yesterday, 999 of those tests came back negative. Fifteen came back positive. Thirty-eight tests haven’t come back yet.

IVCH CEO Tommy Hobbs says it’s good that downstate hospitals haven’t been swamped with coronavirus cases as many had expected. Elective surgeries have resumed at IVCH, but safety precautions including mask wearing are still in effect.
