Ottawa blood drive is booked up a week beforehand, but more drives are coming

It may be from the church’s help network getting the word out and it may be from people being very willing to help anyway, but all 38 blood donation slots at an Ottawa blood drive next week are full. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Communication Director Dan Oscarson says if someone can’t make it or isn’t eligible to give blood after all, the Red Cross may be able to fit in walk-in donors next Tuesday. Or there may be other ways to help, such as serving snacks to the donors.

People who want to give blood can go online to RedCrossBlood.org to find more opportunities. One is coming up Thursday next week (July 16) from 8:45am to 1pm at New Beginnings Baptist Church in Streator.
