Although the Peru Public Library is open to in-person browsing and borrowing again, most programs are still canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Director Charm Ruhnke says the summer reading challenge program is an exception.
The program is for all ages. Participants have a chance to win gift cards at local businesses. The program started a few weeks ago, but Ruhnke says people can join anytime and don’t need to live in Peru.
