Mendota driver service station closed after employee’s positive COVID-19 test

The Mendota driver service station is closed while employees are quarantined for two weeks. The Illinois Secretary of State’s Office says one employee there tested positive for the coronavirus. The place will stay closed until August 12.

Anyone who needs to go to a driver service facility can use another one. Some other ones are in LaSalle, Mendota, and Sterling. Whichever one you use, expect to wait outside until the staff can bring you in, and also expect to wear a mask inside.

Or depending on what you need to do, you may not need to go. Expiration dates for drivers licenses, state ID’s, and license plate stickers have been extended to November 1.
