The Illinois Department of Public Health didn’t make a big announcement about it, but LaSalle County is not on the latest list of counties in COVID-19 warning status. A week ago, the department announced four counties were put on the list. Friday, it issued a list of 11 counties in warning status, but only one of the counties put on the list a week ago was still on it. LaSalle County was not.
The change came one day after Gov. Pritzker visited the county to warn that restrictions could return if the county didn’t turn things around by early next week. On the warning list or not, LaSalle County still has coronavirus cases and they’re going up at higher rates than a month ago.
