The pandemic provided a windfall to Ottawa when it came to ordering police cars. City Commissioner James Less says another police department cancelled an order. Ottawa is getting two police cars that were already in production.

The city’s paying $72,205 for them. That’s about $12,000 less than it would have been normally.

In an unrelated vehicle purchase that also went before the City Council this week, the city’s getting a truck with a 60-foot boom. The city’s paying $142,500 for it.
